Your mess bill is charged in arrears. The current mess subscription for full and associate members is $100 per month. Life and honorary members do not need to pay subscription. Temporary members pay $20 per month.
The joining fee for full members is $300, whilst for associate members it is $200. Associate members upgrading to full membership only need to pay a further $100.
Currently a retirement levy of $15 is collected from each full member, for each retiring full member. This goes towards the cost of a retirement gift. The levy is collected and held as a temporary receipt, and then passed on to the retiring member directly. The retirement gift is NOT paid out of Mess Funds. Consequently, there is no debt owed by the Mess to members who pay this levy.
Members sign chits after using Mess facilities. These are totalled monthly and added to the mess bill. Special functions are normally invoiced separately due to the requirement of some members to make claims from Welfare Fund etc. Should a member fail to settle an invoice when it becomes due, it will be debited to his/her mess bill account. Members may also request that their special function be debited directly to their mess bill.
